Disney Vacation: Day 1

Last Saturday, my mom and dad, sister, grandmother, both my daughters and I started a short vacation at Walt Disney World. Mom, Dad, and my sister Amanda flew down from Syracuse. We arrived late Friday evening and got settled in for three days of fun. My family have been going to Disney World for years. It’s where we prefer to vacation. There is so much to do and see.

It pretty much rained off and on all day Saturday, so I wasn’t able to take as many photos as I liked, but I do have these.

We stayed at the new Pop Century Resort which is based on taking a trip down memory lane celebrating pop culture of the 20th-century. This is the mug you can buy and basically free refills on soda, coffee, tea, juice the entire time you’re there. Awesome deal.

The front of the resort is lined with these huge ‘POP’ structures. I think there was six total. Kids play on them all the time.

Ahh Sir Mickey’s. One of the many shops in the park. This one was in Fantasyland.

And the ever popular ‘It’s A Small World‘. BEWARE: If you ride this one, you’ll be singing or humming the ride tune all day.

Here’s Haley waiting to ride Peter Pan. Her favorite ride. We rode it three times.

I thought this is cool. Popcorn plants growing in front of The Barnstormer at Goofy’s Wiseacre Farm.

That was it from Day 1 at the Magic Kingdom. Check back later today or in the morning for Day 2: EPCOT.
