It’s Not How Good You Are

I just finished reading a new book titled “It’s Not How Good You Are, It’s How Good You Want To Be” by Paul Arden. It’s a really great book about the desire to succeed. Not everyone has talent, but everyone can possess the desire the succeed. It’s a really easy book to read with big words and pictures and it’s only $8 bucks. Check it out here on the A-Store.

Lunar Eclipse

Hopefully, everyone remembers the lunar eclipse last Wednesday night. I was able to catch these shots of it. I’ve seen a couple of these in my lifetime (even one solar eclipse too). Photographing the moon is not the easiest thing to do either.

Enjoy and Happy Thursday!

Skiing at Winterplace

This past weekend I had the chance to help chaperon the youth group at my church on a weekend ski trip to Winterplace in West Virginia. We had a great time. The weather is good for skiing but there was a lot of ice to maneuver. No one got hurt, which is a blessing. We all had small group bible study each day. It was on a video series by BluefishTV called Sex.Dating. Excellent series. I was a leary to take my camera up the mountain in fear of falling and breaking. Here’s a few of the shots from the day.

How to Subscribe (to the blog) and a Contest

MAKE SURE YOU READ THE ENTIRE POST. IT’S WORTH IT. YOU’LL SEE!

A while back I wrote a post titled “Reading Blogs with Google Reader“. I talked about how easy it was to use Google Reader to get updates about your favorite blogs or RSS feeds. Well, today I wanted to talk about an even easier way to do this and all it takes is an e-mail address.

I’ve been using a subscription service since I started this blog but never really talked about it. Basically you enter your e-mail address in the sidebar of my blog and each day you’ll get an e-mail, in the morning usually, containing my latest blog post.

Super simple. Everyone checks their e-mail daily right?

So to reward those of you who subscribe to my blog, I’ve decided to hold on contest. Between right now and March 31, 2008, those of you who subscribe to this blog using the subscribe area in the right sidebar will be enter into the Subscribe Contest. (Even those of you who are already subscribed will be entered). There are two criteria we have to meet though. 1.) We must have at least 250 subscribers by the end of the contest and 2.) you must verify your e-mail address (you’ll get an e-mail after you subscribe). If those aren’t met we can’t justify the contest. So tell your family, friends, co-workers, etc. about the contest and get them to sign up.

On April 2, 2008 (not April 1), we will pull 2 names at random. Those two lucky winners will win their choice of either a $25 iTunes Gift Card or a $25 Target Gift Card.

I’ll be posting regular updates so you’ll know how many subscribers we’re up to. Thanks for reading and have a great day!

Max (Portraits)

On Saturday, I met two of my best friends, Michael and Christen, at the Augusta Museum of History to take a picture of their youngest son, Max. He isn’t quite two yet, but Christen wanted a picture of him in this certain sailor outfit. It turns out that the sailor suit Max wore was the same exact suit his Daddy wore when he was two. I used the museum because it was rather cold for the sailor suit and the museum had I nice big window for great light.

Here’s one of Max.

And Michael is going to kill for posting this one, but doesn’t Max look just like his Dad.

Winter Jam 08 Follow-Up

Here’s a follow up to Winter Jam, which was needless to say, AWESOME! All of the bands and speakers were great. Below are some of the photos I shot last night. I can’t wait until next year.

Also, Newsong is working on completing their new album. Good News, they are giving away the first 100,000 copies for free. Click below to signup for the free copy.
