There are tons of websites out there about wedding inspiration and themes, but I recently discovered SNIPPET & INK. It’s an amazing blog about wedding themes, color schemes, decor, and the like. I really like how she showcases different ones. The inspire colleges are AWESOME! She had come up with 150+ themes styles. Check it out here at www.snippetandink.blogspot.com.

Here some of the ones I enjoyed today!

Adobe Releases Photoshop Express

This week Adobe released Photoshop Express. Photoshop Express is meant to allow consumers the ability to edit their photos online using ‘some’ Photoshop images tools. But editing is just the beginning. Once you’ve uploaded and edited your photos you can create a really slick Flash based online gallery and share it with the world.

Watch this video as Scott and Matt (the Photoshop Guys) explain Photoshop Express.

WARNING: This is not a full blown online version of Photoshop. There’s no palettes, layers or filters. I use Photoshop CS3, Adobe Lightroom, and PhotoMechanik for client and customer editing, but Photoshop Express perfect for anyone wants to edit their photos without dropping wads of cash.

There’s so many features in Photoshop Express – web galleries, 2 GB of storage (WOW), seamless posting to Facebook, Picasa, or Photobucket, and it’s FREE. There’s nothing to buy, nothing to install, just upload, edit and share. How simple could that be.

I’ve only played with it for a few minutes, but it’s going to be really cool going forward. So here’s what I’ve decided to do. Over the next week or two, I’m going to put Photoshop Express to the test. Every couple days I’ll post some interesting and helpful tips about Photoshop Express. In the meantime feel free to cruise on over to Kelby Training in the Photoshop Express site to some quick tutorials. You can get there by clicking here. I’ve learned so much from Scott Kelby and the Photoshop User Guys. And if your ready for Photoshop Express, here’s the link.

Check the blog daily for more Photoshop Express tips and tricks.

Have a great weekend!!

Trip to New York

Last weekend I got to visit my Mom, Dad, and sister in Syracuse, New York. The moved up there last June when my Mom got a promotion with the bank. My sister and Dad knew I was coming but Mom had no clue I was coming. Surprise Mom, Happy Easter.

It was FREEZING!! The cold up there is a different cold than we experience in Georgia. 30 degrees in Georgia is much warmer than 30 degrees in New York. Plus the wind is brutal. Standing the sun with no wind isn’t too bad, but still cold. I had a great visit though. Way too short. It’s always good to visit them, even if it’s cold.

On Saturday, we drove over to a small antique town called Skaneateles (pronounced Skinny Atlas, weird). They had so many little shops and stores.

We stopped at the Skaneateles Falls, which really was half frozen, before we got to town.

We had lunch at a little restaurant called Bluewater Grill. Excellent food with a great caesar salad.

This guy was out in front of one of the shops. Must be near a lake in New England, huh?

Also, I’ve never seen so much dirty snow and ice. Little piles of it and giant mountains too. Sometimes it looks like gray dirt or concrete mix.

Drew

Last Thursday, before I left for my trip to New York (more to come on that), I got to photograph Drew. Drew is the nephew to my best friends, Michael and Christen. Christen’s parents and sister, Beth came down from Kentucky for Easter. Drew was born much earlier than anticipated and couldn’t go out to get his pictures done so I happily agreed to come over and take a few. I also needed to meet Christen’s sister Beth because this summer we’ll be roommates on a cruise we’re taking. I can’t wait until the cruise in July.

Drew was such a good baby.

Earth Hour 2008

Over the weekend during my travels to New York, I was reading the Delta magazine and it had an article about Earth Hour 2008. What is Earth Hour 2008 you ask?

Earth Hour, run by WWF, the conservation organization, is a global climate change initiative which calls on individuals and businesses around the world, to turn off their lights for one hour on Saturday March 29, 2008 between 8 pm and 9pm. The aim of the campaign is to express that individual action on a mass scale can help change our planet for the better. The event itself will clearly demonstrate in participating cities, the connection between energy usage and climate change, showing that we as broader community can address the biggest threat our planet has ever faced.

I think this is absolutely amazing that when we all band together and just turn off the lights for 1 hour that we make that big a difference. I plan on doing this at least once a week. Every little bit counts. You can sign up at earthhour.org or by clicking here. Spread the news and let’s make the world a better place to live.

Here’s a video below.

Tiger Woods Wins Again

Just as I predicted, Tiger Woods won again this weekend at the Arnold Palmer Invitational presented by MasterCard. That makes it 7 victories in a row. Five of those are PGA events. Tiger hasn’t lost in six months. This win makes it win No. 64, tying legendary golfer, Ben Hogan. Tiger continues to amaze everyone. After the second round he was 7 shots behind the leaders and he comes back and wins by one. The reason this was such an incredible win is because won it in such dramatic fashion. Going into the last hole, he was tied at 9 under par with Bart Bryant. Tiger, in his usual fashion, knocks the approach shot about 24 feet from the hole and needed the birdie it to win. And what did Tiger do, he birdied it. Simply amazing.
