I was browsing a favorite wallpaper site today for a new wallpaper and decided I’d share where I find many of my super cool wallpapers.  I get the best wallpapers from Interfacelift.com.  It’s a user generated site and offers the best wallpapers.  I offer wallpapers at many different screen resolutions, so your sure to find one that perfect from your monitor.  They even have wallpaper for the iPhone and iPod Touch.  I’ve been using their images for about two years and can always find a new images for my 24 inch monitor.  Below are a couple of samples I’ve used recently.

A Shot from Long Ago

I came across this picture from when I went on Mission Trip to Connecticut with my church. I think I was about 14 or 15 years old. We had the night off and went to a Red Sox game at Fenway Park (you can see the stadium in the background). That’s me, the second from the right. Good times!

My Canon Rebel XT is now for sale. I recently got a new Canon 5D. The Rebel XT was one of the first cameras I used when I started my wedding photography business. It’s in pristine condition. I only used it for two weddings before switching to my Canon 30D. The Rebel XT was my backup camera and rarely got out of the camera bag. I only used it maybe 4,000 or 5,000 photos, plus it’s small and would perfect for a female with smaller hands. I am including all of the accessories I have for it, which includes the strap, battery grip, 4 batteries, a Sigma 28-90 f/3.5-5.6 Macro Lens, a Sigma 70-300 f/4-5.6 Macro Lens, battery charger, box, digital field guide book and manuals. If anyone would like to buy this camera before it goes onto to eBay, please contact me at kent@lawrencekphotography.com. I’m ask $500 or the best offer. I will be listing it on eBay on or around Tuesday, March 18, 2008.

Lauren’s Black History Play

Last Friday, Lauren was in a Black History Play at school and I thought I’d share a couple of the photos of her dressed up. She was supposed to be a little servant girl. She looked adorable and did a great job on her part.

Creativity

I recently saw the commercial from HP featuring Gwen Stefani. The commercial has been out for a while now and I had seen it before probably a dozen times but never really paid much attention to it. I watched it again and again.

How true is it that creativity just spills out of us like water from a pitcher. Whenever I shoot a wedding, engagement session, or just shooting my kids I let my heart and mind flow out into the camera. Creativity is one of the most important aspects for photography. It’s what makes our work so intriguing and inspiring. I get so many questions about how I came up with that shot, or what made me shoot something a certain way. I always tell them, “That’s what my heart told me to do”. Photography is not always about perfect lighting, a super expensive camera, or awesome hot subjects to shoot, it’s about the moment, the memory and how we capture it.

Let your creativity run wild on the next project you encounter. Let your emotions take over and see what happens. Ciao.
