Wow, the last real post I made was on July 16th. Over a month ago. I needed some time to sort out many things in my life. I had a cruise vacation with three awesome friends, I got the girls ready and off to school, and had a little time to rest and reflect on the past year. I sat down and evaluated my life and my business, and developed a short and long term plan for both (harder than I thought). I planned where I wanted to be in 6 months, 1 year, 2 years, 5 years, and 10 years. Now that that’s completed and I’ve had time to adjust to things, I believe I’m ready to go. One of the things that spurred me to do these is a book by Dane Sanders called Fast Track Photographer. It talks about finding out what your strenghts and weaknesses are and building an action plan to maximize yourself and put yourself on the Fast Track. I’ll talk more about Dane and Fast Track Photographer later this week.

I’ve also being growing, or at least trying to grow, closer with God. It amazes me how He can take control of my life and guide me through things I think are impossible. I know God has a plan for me and the more I put my faith in Him the more clearer it becomes. I can’t thank Him enough for the things He’s already done for me, but I know there’s more in store here and I can’t wait to discover it.

You may have noticed the new layout as well. I am almost finished with the final pieces, so if something isn’t working right, let me know with an e-mail at kent@lawrencekent.com. Also, the new permanent website is almost complete. I only have a few pages to finish and I’ll launch that along with an exciting announcement. Hopefully everything will be released on Monday.

That’s about it for today. I’ll be posting new images of Lauren and Haley soon along with more about Dane Sanders and Fast Track Photographer. I’m also going to be writing about David Jay and the Free to Succeed Tour which is coming to the South soon. I can’t wait until that. David Jay rocks.

Have a great Wednesday!

    Hey Lawrence!

I’m stoked you got into the book and that it was catalytic. I’m honored too that you’d mention it to your readers.

    Thank you!

Lawrence, I just saw the Free to Succeed tour in Chicago. It was FANTASTIC. I spent an extra day shooting downtown with some great people I met at the seminar then came home and started to de-clutter my office. Not only because it was trashed since I am in full swing, but in an attempt to de-clutter my life. One of the best thing about the tour that you wouldn’t focus on is the chance for me to meet other professional photographers. I am just starting Dane Sanders book Fast Track Photographer and am sure it will be inspiring AND motivating. I will try to read enough to keep up with you.
    Matt
