So many times I get “can you Photoshop this or Photoshop that” or “how did you get that shot or effect”?  I will admit that Photoshop is one of the two essential tools I use for editing and managing my photos.  Now while I use Photoshop for editing photos, it’s not what I completely rely on.  Photoshop is just a tool.  I create the image.  I must first see the photo and then capture it.  I strive 100% of the time to get as much correct in camera so to minimize the time editing in Photoshop thus being able to delivered my clients their images faster.  I usually only use Photoshop to take an already great photo and make it better.  Whether it’s popping the color, retouching skin, reducing the dark circle under eyes, etc.  The photo is taken to it’s full potential.

Now I’ll be the first to admit that Photoshop is not for everyone.  It has somewhat of a steep learning curve and knowing some technical terms helps in learning Photoshop.  I’ve spent years learning Photoshop and still learn new things daily, plus Photoshop can be down right expensive for someone who’s just editing images for fun of friends, family, and there experiences.

One new tool that the Adobe Photoshop Team has recently launched is photoshop.com.  Photoshop.com is basically an online scaled down version of Photoshop that’s available for use by everyone.  And it’s FREE!!!!

Photoshop.com allows anyone to upload their images, adjust white balance, exposure, tinting, retouching, contrast and so much more.  It builds albums and slideshows that one can share with anyone (with a unique URL).  People can even download and order prints of the images.  It connects with Facebook, Picasa, Photobucket, etc.  I really think the Facebook connect is the best.  You can upload you photos to Photoshop.com, make any corrections or adjustments you want to your photos and then just drag over to the Facebook connection and presto Photoshop.com sends your adjusted images to your Facebook profile.  Isn’t that sweet.

Recently, the folks over at Layers TV talked about Photoshop.com and it’s abilities.  You can click here to view the tutorial (which starts at the 22 second mark) or click the photo below to see it.

You can also click here to see one of the galleries I created using Photoshop.com.
