Engagement: Jake & Laura

Jake & Laura’s engagement session was this past Saturday.  The weather was perfect (a little warm, but nothing what we’ll get later this summer).  These two are so perfect for each other.  Their love for each other just naturally shows in their interactions with each other.  They both have so much style and class. They too will be having a Christmas wedding later this year just like Emily & John Paul.

We visited three locations Saturday.  One was the church where they’re getting married.  I love this place.  It was full of little nooks and crannies that made for good shots and the light was pretty nice.

Wedding Tip of the Week: Makeup

This weeks tip is about your makeup for the wedding – primarily the mascara.  I’m a guy so my advice on the makeup is very limited, but this tip comes from Debbie Jean at the Little Wedding Guide.  Here’s the tip:

Mascara for Weddings

Choosing the right mascara for your wedding day is an important aspect of bridal make-up.

If you don’t have a smudge proof or water proof mascara in your make-up bag, you will need to purchase one especially for your wedding day. You certainly don’t want black tears running down your beautifully made up face.

If you are going to have your make-up applied by a professional make-up artist, ask him/her to use your own mascara on your eyes. Mascara holds bacteria and it is therefore recommended you use your own. This decision will eliminate chances of catching any eye infections before your honeymoon. You will most likely need a water proof mascara for your honeymoon anyway, so your purchase will be well worth it.

Engagement: John Paul & Emily

Saturday was John Paul and Emily’s Engagement Session and we had a great time.  I love talking to my clients and getting to know them, talking about their lives, my life, their wedding, etc. etc. etc.  We tackled three locations Saturday, and one was riddled with prom folks (we forgot proms had started).  Oh well, they looked better than any of them anyways.

John Paul and Emily and good friends with Allison and Jonathan, who’s wedding I’ll be shooting at the end of May.  John Paul and Emily are having a Christmas wedding this wedding which are some of my favorite wedding to shoot (minus the cold weather).  Check out some of my favorites below.

The World of Coke

Last week was Spring Break for the girls and on Friday I took them to Atlanta and on Saturday visited  The World of Coke.  We stayed at the Ritz Carlton in Buckhead and had a great time relaxing and swimming in their nice indoor pool.  Around 11am we headed down to The World of Coke.  I really enjoyed my visit there.  They had a short documentary film which some of you may remember.  It was a Super Bowl commercial, I think but they created some additional animation and kind of went a little further in explanation.  Here’s the commercial.

I had a 4D film about What makes a Coke, a Coke?  A mammoth amount of memorabilia, pop art, and the friendly Coke polar bear for photos.  My favorite part was sampling all of the different flavors of soft drinks produced from around the world.  Some good, some not so good.  Have some of photos from that day.

Here’s Haley watching some cartoons at the Ritz Carlton before we left.

One of the many rooms with memorabilia.  They was a holding room before the first film.
