Well, after a long wait, we’ve launched the new lawrencekent.com. I’m really excited about the new design. I’m using many of the new features in ShowIt Sites and SmugMug to power things. The interface is so slick. I have so many other things I want to build into the site. Go check it out –>> lawrencekent.com; (or see the preview below, which is one of the cool new features)
This summer, both Lauren and Haley have been taking piano lessons from the pastors wife at church. Last night, Lauren got to play ‘Ode to Joy’ in front of the entire congregation during the offertory. She did a fantastic job and only stumbled briefly close to the end. Take a listen and leave a comment below.
I recently saw that Becker posted this. I read this book last year and still pick it up from time to time to refresh my mind on branding. I didn’t know they had made it available via slideshare. It’s a quick read as well as the other books published.
Give it a read, it’s worth the hour it might take.
This post has been a long time coming. Last month, I finally found a vendor who would fulfill my prints the way I wanted for my clients but also be able to offer custom framing options and fulfill directly to the customer. They have such a great process. They aren’t just picked out and shipped. They actually take into consideration the size of the print before installing the custom frame. Nothing spells out art like a custom print hanging in a custom frame you picked out. They also offer the option to have it in a white or black mat or with clear or non-glare glass. You can even get the image printed on canvas instead paper and have it framed for a different look. I haven’t loaded the option to order it on the online proofing gallery yet because a haven’t personally seen or felt the quality of the canvas…. soon though.
If you want a print or prints (wink, wink) custom framed, just add the print and size you want in the shopping cart and at the checkout screen click the Enhance Images button. From there you can pick out your framing options.
Below are a couple of examples of the frames offered.
An Ornate Bronze Frame with a 5×7 Print
An Ornate Gold Frame with a 10×10 Print in a Black Mat
A Rounded Black Frame with an 11×14 print in a White Mat
An Rounded Black Frame with a 16×24 Print in a White Mat
A Flat Black Frame with an 8×10 Print
A Curved Black Frame with a 16×24 Print in a White Mat
A Silver Ornate Frame with a 10×15 Print in a White Mat
So there’s a few samples. They’re super nice.
Oh… and come back soon. I’ll be talking about a new service I’m offering and how much you’ll like it. It’s just the best thing. I’ll be out of town until Friday night. I’ll be in Jacksonville visiting my grandparents for a few days and attending the Jacksonville PUG meeting Thursday night. It’s always good meeting other photographers. I’ll be working too.
Saturday was Lauren and Andrew’s fabulous wedding at Sacred Heart Cultural Center in Augusta, Georgia. It was super hot but just like the weather. They contacted me back in early 2007 about booking me to be their wedding photographer. When they told me they were getting married on June 27, 2009, I thought they meant of 2007 or 2008. Nope, 2009. A full two years away. Wow! These guys are doing it right and getting everything done early.
And they did. No pressure, no stress come the wedding day.
Also, we connected instantly because of our same love for Disney. I think they might love Disney more than I do — wait what am I saying — NO WAY!! No one could love it more than me. Right? They went as far as having a candy table for the guests at the reception and the signs for each candy was printed easy the Disney font. They also got their cake maker to work in a hidden Mickey into the design. How cool is that?
It was a great wedding and Lauren and Andrew did such a good job on every detail.
Below are a few of my favorites, but to see more click hereand view the inline slideshow.
