My last wedding in 2009, was nothing short of beautiful. I shot it two days after Christmas. It was absolutely beautiful despite the cold weather. Laura and Jake had there wedding at the Church of the Good Shepherd in Augusta, Georgia. To me, this was a very special wedding, for many reasons, but I’ll just name a few.
1. It was a Christmas wedding. For some reason, they are so gorgeous. Plus, most everything is already decorated and looks great.
2. The Turrentine Family – without revealing too much, this family is so close and genuine. They made to laugh so hard.
3. It marked an end to a great year.
The most special part of the wedding, was Laura’s dress. It was 51 years old, but it looked brand new. Her dress was actually worn originally but her grandmother (which you’ll see in the post), her mother, and now her. She said it was completely yellow and musty when first got it, but after having it meticulously cleaned, it looked exactly like it did 51 years ago. PERFECT!!
UPDATE: The gloves you’ll see in the images, are actually from the mid 1800′s. Laura’s GREAT GREAT GREAT Grandmother wore them on her wedding day. We think it was around 1867. WOW! They looked amazing!

To Laura and Jake – thank you so much for allowing me to be a part of your wedding and becoming such great friends.
To the Turrentine family – Thank you so much for being such a loving family and showing so much emotion. Bravo!!

Thank you, Kent, for everything. I am so pleased with all that you did for Jake and myself over the past year. The investment with you was much more than just photography. Your art and gift are extraordinary. Blessings to you and yours over the new year! Much Love, Laura Bailey Turrentine
Great photos capturing Laura’s special day. It was such a pleasure helping her in restoring her wedding gown and gloves back to their original beauty for her to enjoy just as previous brides have done. Thanks, David Galusha
