Downtown Augusta Wedding – Carrie & Jamie

Jamie and Carrie wedding this past Saturday was beautiful.  Even though the weather threatened for just a bit, it quickly passed by and we all had a beautiful day.  A few of the highlights of the day were the classic Chevy they had to escort them to the reception.  The other was that they held their reception at the new Palmetto Terrace in North Augusta (which I hadn’t shot at yet).  Below are some of my favorites from their day.

In case, you missed their engagement session, click here.

Here’s the trailer for tomorrow’s full length movie from Thirst Relief International’s work in Tanzania.

Thirst Relief International – My Charitable Contribution – Part 1

This year I’ve chosen to give back to charity. The charity I’ve selected is Thirst Relief International.  Thirst Relief International is responding to the worldwide water crisis by helping thousands of families each year gain access to safe water through simple, low-cost means. A locally manufactured biosand filter or a well repaired by nationals has the power to radically improve the health and well-being of an individual, a family, a community.

Here’s the deal: I’m going to donate 6% of all my online print and product sales to Thirst Relief International. So far this year I’ve donated $79.69 to Thirst Relief International. Below is a short preview video of the work Thirst Relief is doing.  Last year, several highly influential photographer visited Tanzania to document and help out the cause.  Watch the video and see what you can do to help.  Also in the next two days two longer full length documentaries to view. Make sure you come back and watch those.

Here’s some quick facts relating to this cause.

-1.1 billion people lack access to clean drinking water, and nearly 2 million people die each year due to waterborne-related disease (90% of which are children under the age of 5).

-Every week, due to easily preventable causes, diarrheal disease claims the lives of 30,000 people, most of them young children.

-The lack of clean drinking water is at the root of the African HIV/AIDS pandemic. Children and adults living with HIV/AIDS require clean drinking water to survive. Waterborne illness considered normally mild in healthy adults becomes an incurable death sentence for those affected by HIV/AIDS.
